Welcome 2015!
Friday, January 02, 2015Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to 2015, with a lot of new adventures and opportunities to come. 2014 was an interesting year to be honest, like every year it had ups and downs; things I would happily hide away and never recall as well as many amazing memories!
I finished high school which I can't believe to this day. Five years of my life in high school and although I love college I still miss it a lot; the comfort of teachers I've known for years, my classes with the same group of people, amongst other things. Prom...DUN, DUN, DUN! This was another thing I was unsure about, I mean I just never looked forward to the idea - I think it was because I was just never that type of dress up person and I'd never been drawn to the whole idea. Months before prom everyone talked about it and I was consistently adamant I would not go, looking back I suppose I felt like I'd just not fit in; prom was actually the first time I'd attempted to wear high heeled shoes but I haven't worn any since to be fair. However, after all the stubbornness on my part I did go and I'm so glad I did because it was a night to remember! I loved every single moment, everyone looked wonderful too!
Friendships have changed last year too, I think we all knew things might change; going to college, growing up and moving along in life. We (as in me and my friends) had discussed pre-college that it would be an opportunity to socialise but it'd show us who our true friends were because we'd have to make an effort to keep up relationships; we knew that we wouldn't be with each other in every class or see each other all the time. I can say right now I'm happy with the friends I have around me, I chose to make the effort because I love all my friends but if some people choose not to make the effort with me then that's their choice.
Typically right now I'd go on to talk about resolutions for the new year but I'm saving that for another post because I have a different outlook. I want to finish with saying that I hope whoever you are, wherever you are, I hope you had a wonderful festive season! I hope that you have many happy memories from 2014, on the other hand if you had a challenging year then I hope you have a positive outlook for this year and have at least learnt or got something out of 2014.
