Book Review: The Fault In Our Stars

Saturday, June 21, 2014

So, one of this years most popular books has been the critically acclaimed books as well as a New York Times #1 best seller has been John Green's The Fault In Our Stars. I decided to see whether all the hype surrounding this book was worth while and gave it read.

This heart warming book is the story of Hazel Grace Lancaster. A teenager who was diagnosed with a form of cancer and has always been terminal, however her story changes when she begins a support group and meets a stunning boy by the name of Augustus Waters. The story is told by Hazel Grace herself, although what's so different about this is Hazel's outlook on life, living it and accepting what she has. She knows that she won't live a full life, she knows she's smart but she doesn't go around bragging. Hazel Grace isn't nor does she wish to be the typical 'cancer kid', Augstus seems to be exactly the same; he is witty and confident- they make a great pairing.

John Green has written this book beautifully! It brings out a vary of emotions all at once, it's hard to put the book down when you begin. You become wrapped up in Hazel Grace's incredible story, personally it made me have a different outlook on certain aspects of life. A new clarity. One of my favourite things is some of the quotes which you can take from the book to help you do things in a different way or just use day to day. I'll definitely be going back for another read and be recommending this book for a long time coming.

One of if not my favourite quotes from TFIOS is....
